おまけ(日本語版にないpun 3つ)

I hear about AI so often. It sounds like spectacular, but some say that what the information it provides is not always correct. Well, I decided to check for myself.
I made the following request to Chat GPT:

Make some funny sentences using a word that has the same sound but a different meaning. For example, I saw a see-saw.

Then it gave me a dozen or so similar sentences, such as:

Why don’t scientists trust atoms? Because they make up everything.

I am reading a book about anti-gravity. I can’t put it down.

I told my wife she was drawing her eyebrows too high. She looked surprised

(The words with double meaning are in boldface just for your convenience.)

Well, I was flabbergasted, and thought that surely I have become obsolete as a pun maker.

But one of my colleagues encouraged me, saying that a pun is fun only if told by a living human being, and that AI, no matter how smart it sounds, has no body.

He is right. With no corporality, AI doesn’t need to be afraid of. With no body, you are nobody.

If you are to be wary of anything, with AI developing daily, you should be wary of the use people make of AI.

Well, one more thing. I found it more convenient to ask AI to do this or that in English, than in Japanese. So it is more and more important to have a good command of English.

So let’s go on (enjoying) learning English!
