Dear Friends,
Have you seen Disney movies like Aladdin or Frozen? Did you know there’s a Disney movie that very few people watch? It’s a documentary about Walt Disney himself!
I watched this movie and found two interesting things:
Walt Disney was different from what I imagined. I thought he would be very kind and nice, like his movies. But he wasn’t always so friendly. For example:
He made noises to let workers know he was nearby.
He got very angry when workers went on strike.
He didn’t listen to his workers. He wanted them to just obey him.
He was more like a strict boss of his time.
Old Disney cartoons are actually fun! In the movie, I saw clips of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. These cartoons show interesting things about their time:
In one Donald Duck cartoon, he eats hot popcorn and dances, with popcorn coming out of his nose and ears! This was probably when popcorn machines were new and exciting.
A Mickey Mouse cartoon shows a funny trailer house with impossible inventions. Trailer houses were popular then.
The music in these cartoons sounds like machines in factories, which were common at that time.
The documentary was easy to understand and fun to watch. I think you might enjoy it too!
